Freenote.co.uk is a free tool to help capture information and organise it.

Quickly write something down, copy and paste from another webpage or upload a file to make sure you have it saved and can access it anywhere online. Later on you can organise your information and have a simple place to quickly find it.

History

In 1998 in my first year in University I started a little project which ended up helping me to organise my studies and later my whole life. My problem surrounded the fact that I was useless with paper; I would write things down on a post-it or spare sheet of A4, put it into my bag (which may as well have been a black hole) only for it to get destroyed or lost before I found I needed it. I started using a dedicated notepad which solved my organisational failings for a while but sometimes I would forget it and start a new notepad and eventually it ran out, so without carrying all my notepads with me I never seemed to have everything I needed.

One day after losing a particularly important piece of information I decided that what I needed was a place to keep everything that I couldnt lose or destroy, a place that I could get to easily and quickly add notes. This day was the beginning of FreeNote, a place for all my notes which I could easily access and organise when required. Later I graduated and started a career, all the time using FreeNote to keep track of important information; contact details, important dates, to-do lists and hundreds of other notes.

Everything little bit of information probably started life as a note; the most famous books, songs, films or anything else you can think of. Notes can form the basis for organising anything, why not try using them to help organise your life?
